In the last Centuries the National Metrology System has been transformed substantively and to be able to understand its evolution it is crucial to analyze the predominant cultures along the Mexican history and their relationship with other relevant actors within the Panorama of Metrology.
This is why we have divided the article into six sections. In the first one we describe the situation of the prehispanic Mexico before introducing, in the second section, the preCortesian period and its main changes.
