I have been a Dish customer for approximately 15 years and have zero complaints with the service. There have been a few channel outages that have been frustrating but I completely understand that at times it is needed to maintain cost.
The Dish Anywhere App use to work perfectly until the App was redesigned. The functionality and ease of use of the App has a less user friendly design and I truly wish I would have not updated the application. As I travel for business I use the App frequently and have considered changing service providers to another service provider with more user friendly and functional app.
I really hope Dish considers fixing these complications soon. Trying to download from DVR to tablet. Totally confusing. Finally got it to "preparing" a queue of 2 videos. Came back an hour later and Not in the queue and not downloaded. Tried twice more with same results. Three years as Dish users, ready to pitch Hopper and 3 Joeys into a crusher.
Thanks for the most recent update. It sort of works on an ipad I have a chromebook and it doesn't work at all. I can get to the guide but when you try to view anything it just says loading.
I even upgraded my wifi to 1 gig. You might try looking for a new programer because what ever the current ones are doing ain't cutting it. Wont worked even in the same house. Small House!! Very unreliable Update: Now this is telling me I have to use a different browser like Chrome. What the heck, do they have stock in Chrome?
It worked fine on Edge. In the old version it was simply the tap of a button when the program was selected in the guide. Now it wants to stream the program on my iPad instead of tuning to the program on TV. I actually thought the iPhone app had downloaded by mistake rather than the IPad app so reloaded again.
I have loved this app for several years now until today I find out that my Dish Anywhere app. Why are you squeezing your customers that have paid you tens of thousands of dollars over the years. Thanks for putting the screws to your valued customers; what a crappy thing to do.
I just get a gray screen that goes nowhere. I downloaded the old software and I can at least get some of the channels to work. This app constantly crashes always have to click close player.
Even after updating it. It never works properly. There is a constant grey rectangle in the center of the screen whenever I try to watch from the app. You can't remove it and can't find any help anywhere else.
Dish anywhere weather the app or web freezes with great high speed internet. If you have a choice go with Directv or just stream your favorite shows through netflicks. You have to wonder why all the good nicknames have been used.
Disappointed, junk, waste of time I have to go through the actual network app to watch programs without interruption. That is an interesting way to notify tablet users that their app is going away! I do not like this updated app. It never works correctly. Go back to the older version!
What are you doing? This app is now worse than the previous update. You cannot see recordings on the same day they are recorded. You record something and then later in the day want to view it and it is not there. It has been over a year and this is still not fixed. This is the worst app. I would give you -5 stars if I could.
Horrible app. This app worked great at one time, not so much anymore. Now when I don't have a cellular connection which is every day and I want to watch something that I've previously loaded onto my iPad, I'm prompted to use my Apple ID to sign in but I can't because I don't have a cellular connection. If on the rare occasion I'm able to watch a transferred program, a pop-up message box repeatedly appears to inform me that the app detects no cellular signal which of course ruins the enjoyment of watching the program.
Since I first posted this review that problem has actually gotten worse! The pop-up screens are more frequent than ever. I just got off the phone with a Dish customer care person and they told me that there's nothing I can do about this. Transferring a recorded program onto my iPad is now impossible.
They took a perfectly good app and wrecked it! Regarding apparent upcoming merging of both Apps Tablet version will no longer be updated?? Need to go back to company that developed v7. Someone else's Question Why will this be the last update for Tablet app?
The standard we'd be happy to address concerns Not really an answer there. Every time there is an update all it does is mess this app up keeps telling me I'm offline even though my dish is connected to the internet i have to travel for work so this is the only way to watch TV but if it doesn't work what is the point of having it they need to get this figured out and quit screwing up everytime there is an update.
This app is frustrating and bad! All it does is buffer or just freeze and jumps forwards 10 minutes after buffering or commercials. If you pause to let it load some viewing time or because you need to pause to do something, and it's paused longer than seconds, it jumps forward 10 minutes and starts playing.
My TV will show shows that are recorded but the app doesn't have them available. I didn't think it was possible for this app to get worse but it continuously has more issues added. This thing is just bad, with its frequent and endless buffering. Enjoyed dish at home, but this app has given me so many problems trying to sign up It's literally giving me a headache..

This level of customer mistreatment and general unprofessionalism is a scourge in the satellite TV and networking companies. In other cases, the warranty that protects that equipment in the event of accidental damage is voided if you put your hands on the stuff.
This is ostensibly a good thing, but the quality and timeliness of their technicians are very much in question. One last big complaint repeated on the BBB about DISH Network is that their special offers or promotional items are either ignored or misunderstood by their customer service reps. The customer service people on the other end of the line are supposed to know everything there is to know about ongoing promotions. When this customer contacted DISH to ask where her gift card was, she was given the runaround by the customer service rep.
Furthermore, the company never actually gave her the gift card or acted like they knew about the promotion she was talking about. This resulted in an incredibly frustrating experience and the customer ended up trying to cancel her DISH subscription. This led her back to the first complaint at the top of this list — all in all, it was clear that it was a terrible experience all around. They got more done in a few weeks than I did in over two years. They are really a light for us in a very hard time. Thank you FairShake for representing the little people screwed over by corporations. I called to remove autopay EFT on my account and received confirmation 3 times that this would be the case. Today, they processed autopay charging me for the upcoming month. When I requested a refund, the Resolution Department that I waited over an hour to be transferred to, informed that it will take 17 days for Dish to refund me because autopay was using my checking account.
I told them that this was unacceptable and they informed that this was the only way for me to be refunded. The customer service is as poor as their service offerings. I've had DISH out to work on my reception twice.
There are no trees or obstruction anywhere. I'm in basically a field and the reception is terrible. Watching football and the signal goes down sometimes 3 or 4 time every 5 minutes and it's always at critical times in the game. I miss so much of the game and instead of enjoying the game I get so frustrated. It's worthless! We called because for the last 2 days our signal has been spotty and today it finally stopped working altogether.
The first call I was hung up on after explaining we had done the first 5 steps on the error message. The second call I spoke with a person who checked the signal and installation of the switch and everything was fine so they said we would have to make an appointment for a technician to come out. The next available appointment is January 4th. I asked what the amount would be if we cancelled our service and they said because they upgraded our receiver, which we did not ask for, when we moved it restarted our contract.
After the customer service I had received I asked to cancel and they transferred me to an account specialist who tried to talk me into staying. This rep was constantly talking over me, openly laughed at me and basically called me an idiot. I added another Joey and was told I need to sign up to an extended contract and then it would be reversed. I asked the installer if it would increase the length of my contract and he acknowledged it would which I said was not acceptable, then he went outside and came back in and and said he took care of it, all lies.
Their people can't get their stories straight now, one said it would cost Which is it. I will tell you more lies. I will never have Dish Network again, ever, this is no way to do business. With no notice, Dish turned off the only satellite I can receive from. Took multiple calls to get billing stopped. Phone tree is a Nightmare!
