I have a default printer set, and I never had problems printing before today. I did have the default printer set to a Copy of the actual Printer I want to use, and I deleted that today, which I'm sure is part of the problem.
Any idea how I can get requests sent to the printer instead of "to file"? Joined Dec 28, Messages 8, What is your default printer? Which W7? If necessary, please provide a screen shot.
See attachment for instructions. Hey , thanks for replying. It's a Canon Pixma MP, running wireless. I have the 32 bit version of Windows 7, and I'll try to figure out a screen shot.
The check mark within green circle indicates that the Canon MP is the printer that is first on the list of printers to which you have your computer connected [ including wireless connections ]. Which W7 are you using? Is the Canon MP configured to be a local printer, or on a network? If so, what changed? Do you know how to print a test page, when your computer is not turned on? If so, please do so. Right click the Canon MP Left click "printer properties" [ not "properties".
Left click "print test page". Watch for totice that the process completed successfully, which means that W7 communicated with the Canon. Or you might see a notice that the print job failed. If so, note the text. If you see a button for "details", "more information" or similar, left click the button.
Note the information.
