Msi error 2753 the file is not marked for installation

In the Service window scroll down and find the Windows Installer service. Double-click Windows Installer in the Services list to open its properties window. On the General tab, make sure the service is started under Service status. If the service was stopped , under Service status , then start the service by clicking on the Start button, and then click OK. Step 2: Unregister and re-register the Windows Installer. In the run type the following command and click on OK. Let us know the status, we are glad to assist you further.

Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. The results show an error msg that the containing exe inside the msi probably is "not marked for installation".

I quote my problem original Thread What I did was create a folder with the two MSI installers, the uninstaller.

I force-updated the GPO on the server and rebooted my client. My first Q would be if I have to move the msi and exe files to the same folder where the batch file is placed It just happens on the EXE uninstaller. I had this exact problem with flash. The issue for me was that the previous version of flash was not properly removed from the registry. After I removed these entries I have successfully deployed the last 3 versions of flash just letting them run as assigned software in a GPO, so you may want to consider it instead of a MSIexec script which may continue to leave bad registry entries?

Just a thought. View more:. Software Deployment Questions. Powershell script for enabling location services not running? Setup of script to verify a process, then start if necessary?
